Original story:

Police in Norristown were looking late Wednesday afternoon for a Plymouth Ambulance vehicle that was reportedly stolen from the scene of a medical emergency on New Hope Street, according to Montgomery County Public Safety radio reports.

The county Department of Public Safety's incident status page indicated that the ambulance had been dispatched to that location, at or near the Norristown office of the state's Department of Public Welfare, to assist an individual suffering from seizures.

WPVI-TV reported that the ambulance was taken from the location while EMS personnel were inside the building and that another ambulance was sent to the scene to replace it.

The ID of the ambulance that was reportedly taken was 308-8. 308 is the identifier for Plymouth Ambulance as a whole.

A possible suspect was described as a white male. No further description was immediately available.

Police were just departing the reported scene of the theft when a reporter arrived at about 4:45 p.m. We'll update this story when more information is available.
