Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Armed Robbery at Markley Street Citgo Under Investigation

Police are reportedly investigating an armed robbery at another area gas station Thursday night.

Patch readers are reporting Norristown Police and EMS are on the scene at the Citgo Gas Station in the Astor Shopping Center in the 1700 block of Markley Street Thursday night.

Police have confirmed that two armed men robbed the station and customers inside the store and fled on foot.

Early reports from readers and scanner chatter describe the men as two black male suspects in ski masks. The cashier of the store may have been pistol whipped during the robbery.

Police are still investigating at the scene.

Patch will update this story as more information becomes available.

If all these robberies are being done by the same 2 guys, there are really hitting a pretty wide range. It's pretty sad that people can't even fill their gas tanks any longer without fear of getting robbed, shot or hurt. My children always wonder why I will not stop in Norristown to get gas any longer and I drive to Conshy or Plymouth Meeting, at least it's a little safer. Hopefully they are caught soon before I have to travel even further!

If you read the Times Herald interview with the "Interim Police Chief" you would know that Norristown has no issues with violence. So why are all of you concerned???
