Authorities Investigating Connection Between Brown and Ladson-Singleton Murders

Local police and county detectives are reportedly investigating a possible connection between the Christmas night murder of Paul Brown and the Oct. 20 murder of Ryan Ladson-Singleton.

Norristown Police and Montgomery County Detectives continue to investigate the Christmas night shooting death of 24-year-old Paul Brown. Brown was reportedly found by police who responded to West Scott Alley behind the 120 Wayne Avenue shortly after 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 25 for a reported shooting. Brown was discovered sitting in the driver's seat of his 1997 Buick Sedan with multiple gunshot wounds. Police reportedly recovered 15 shells from the scene of the crime.

Brown was reportedly transported by Plymouth Ambulance to Mercy Suburban Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Police currently have no suspects in the crime.

Tracy Brown, the victim's aunt, told The Times Herald that Brown was on his way to Christmas dinner at his mother's house, but for reason's unknown went to West Scott Alley. She told the Herald she believes her nephew was ambushed.

Authorities are reportedly investigating possible links between this homicide and the Oct. 20 murder of Ryan Ladson-Singleton. According to Norristown Police Lt. Michael Crescitelli, Brown was named as "a person of interest" and interviewed by detectives in the Ladson-Singleton case, but was "not very forthcoming with information." Rumors continue to persist in the community implicating Brown in the crime, however.

"There was no actual evidence linking [Brown] to the murder," Lt. Crescitelli wrote to Norristown Patch in an email. He also noted that no weapon was found in Brown's car or at the crime scene at the time of his murder.

Lt. Crescitelli noted that police have learned that Brown and Kyree Wells, who is wanted in connection with other recent shootings in Norristown, were friends. Wells reportedly told police that he believed there was a contract on his life in connection with the Ladson-Singleton murder.

Tracy Brown told the Herald that her nephew was "a tough kid" with a criminal history, but that he seemed stressed recently. He reportedly told a family member, "I might need you."

"It just seemed like he was not all there," Brown told the Herald. "And now, he’s gone. I am devastated by this. Paul had issues, but he was a good kid."

Brown is not implicated in any of the recent shootings Wells was allegedly involved in.

Norristown Police and the Montgomery County Detectives continue to investigate Brown's murder and ask anyone with information to call the Norristown Police Department at 610-270-0977 or Montgomery County Detective Bureau 610-278-3368.

CrimeStoppers, POST A REWARD that is significant enough so that whoever turns this guy in can relocate, and the murder will be solved, period.POST A REWARD that can be added to the current "fines & costs" imposed by the corrupt Montgomery County Clerk of Courts protocol, and the murder will be solved. NORRISTOWN, POST A REWARD, that will allow the "cooperator" to move their family out of Norristown's cesspool-like existence, and ALL the murders will be solved, and additionally, the perpertrators will know that Risa Ferman is serious, that Montgomery County, as corrupt as they may be, are serious about apprehending, prosecuting, and locking up the monsters that commit these heinous acts. But, you know what? Not trying to play the race card, but does Montgomery County really care that much about an African American life? I think not. Sad but true. God Bless us all...

I'm trying to understand how you had him when the shooting happened last Friday where you believe he was involved but according to another story where Wells is wanted, he is not being charged with the shooting???? I think they need to question Wells about this murder because something just ain't right. Now he's hollering a contract out on him but I just can't understand how you had him and now you're looking for him. Very fishy! We'll see just how much you're looking for him and no Risa's not playing, she never did. I actually like the way she roll and she rolls right.

it keeps occurring because of the scum like this. These animals destroyed Norristwon because they think they are owed something. I bet 95% of the scum that is involved with this never held a job and live off of crime and hand outs. The scum out number the cops in this crap hole. there's not to much anyone can do when the roach's go out at night.

So, Montgomery County doesn't care about black people now? They posted a reward for the Ladson murder and no one has come forward. If you need a "life changing" reward to speak up, then maybe you don't care enough to help clean this town up.

they dont care they just want a hand out. instead of cleaning The town up they will not say a word until a reward is offered. even then if its not life changing they wont speak up. they want to be paid to do the right thing.

Is this really what the "Norristown Patch" is all about? To me it seems to be making matters worst.

Risa Ferman permits yearly searches/inspections by code enforcement. Down with the Bill of rights, is your home/apartment next?

At the end of the day, lives have been lost, and parents and families are in tremendous pain. Please, please stop attacking one another and pointing fingers. Let's truly think about how WE as a community can impact Norristown for change and then take action. NOTHING is impossible. My prayers go out to ALL of the families from years past and up to the present. Being the relative of a person lost to violence, I want to let you know that although it may feel like it now, you are not alone. The pain that you feel is unspeakable, but you will make it through this!

Hey everyone check this out. Just like we hear who did it or supposedy done it Why would someone have to call and leave a tip. They can folow-up from the talk they hear in the streets. What difference does it make whether you call in and leave a tip or they hear it for themselves in the streets. BOTTOM line is you still have to follow -up and do your JOB!!!. All that taljk about nobody"s telling us anything LAST I checked your the detectives get up off your LAZY asses and do the job you signed up for!!! And if you were really trying to solve these murders and shootings you would offer a substantial reward . The borough and police have collected enough from the citizens where they can offer a real reward. WHY should the people have to do your job for you!!!

There should be no reward offered to catch the monster who shoots or kills people. If anyone has information on what happened should care enough about their neighborhood and community to turn the person in. Norristown use to be a great place to raise a family and community . But now all you hear about is shootings . Stop the violence. Take back your community and push the thugs out. I have wonderful memories of growing up on George St We would walk to the zoo as a group. Play outside as a neighborhood. The sad part is the children of this generation and upcoming ones will never know have those types of childhood memories. They will only have the memories of people being shot in killed on the streets they grew up on. People open your eyes and do the right thing for yourself and your community
