Authorities Investigating Double Murder on Arch Street

Police reportedly suspected a murder-suicide initially, but evidence suggests the victims were killed by an unidentified suspect or suspects.

According to The Times Herald, little information has been released in the case of the two victims found dead of gunshot wounds in a rental unit on the 1200 block of Arch Street on Fathers' Day.

Authorities told the Herald that police responded to a call of an unresponsive subject on the scene shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 17, and discovered the man and woman, both described as black and in their mid twenties to early thirties, lying on the floor on their backs in a room on the second floor of a rooming house.

“It doesn’t appear to be a murder-suicide,” Norristown Police Chief Russell Bono told the Herald. “We initially thought it was, but that does not appear to be the case. We are treating this as a double-murder. You never know for sure, but right now, it doesn’t look like it. Instead, we are looking at our first murder since, I think, last August. That’s a pretty significant stretch of time, but I was really hoping to get through the year without one.”
