Charges Held Against West Conshy Truck Driver in Connection with Crash that Killed West Norriton Man

Benjamin Kane is being charged with vehicular manslaughter in connection with the October Turnpike crash that killed West Norriton man Michael SanFelice.

According to The Times Herald, 34-year-old Benjamin Joseph Kane waived his Wednesday hearing in an Oreland district court and charges of vehicular manslaughter, aggravated assault ond others were held in connection with the Oct. 22, 2012 Turnpike crash that took the life of PennDOT worker Michael SanFelice.

Kane, of West Conshohocken, is accused of crashing his truck into a work zone on the Turnpike and killing 66-year-old Michael SanFelice, of West Norriton, who was working on the scene.

According to the Herald, prosecutors may argue that Kane, who was operating with a suspended license at the time of the crash, was texting on his cell phone at the time of the accident.

Kane's arraignment is reportedly scheduled for March.
