Coffee Talk celebrated it's reopening as a gathering place for artists and musicians on Friday with an evening of music and art talk and owners Aleks and Joel Eigen put together this video to introduce the public to the shop's new mission.
While there's no word on a daily schedule, Coffee Talk will host author Richard Ladson on Wednesday, April 25, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to read from his book, Very Short Stories. Admission is $3.50.
On Friday, May 11, local author Steve O'Driscoll will sign copies of his new book, Rendezvous in Quebec from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Eigens are also hosting a short story contest in honor of the Norristown Bicentennial. To enter, email your story to aleksct@yahoo.com by June 30. There is a $5 entry fee and first, second and third place prizes will be awarded. The story must be no longer than 1000 words and must include the words "Norristown," "historic" and "anniversary." Pictures can be included.

Steve O’Driscoll pens first novel
•Steve O’Driscoll, a Norristown resident for over 30 years, has written his first novel, “Rendezvous in Quebec.”
•Released by MPP Publising of Reno, Nev., the book tells the story of eight people from Lafayette Hill, Albany, N.Y., Rhode Island and Montreal who under take a dangerous plan to rob a casino and change their lives forever.
•O’Driscoll has enjoyed a 25-year career as a marketing strategist and copywriter. He has contributed to ad campaigns in print, radio, television and on the Internet.
•His regional and national marketing clients have included GMAC, the NFL Philadelphia Eagles, Proctor & Gamble, Comcast Spectator, the NHL New Jersey Devils, E*Trade Bank, the NFL New York Jets, Merck, Johnson & Johnson, the Newark Prudential Center and TV Guide.

The public can meet O’Driscoll at two upcoming book signings.
•The first will be at Thyme Cafe 3920 Ridge Pike in Eagleville on Sunday, May 6 from 9 to 11 a.m.
•On Friday, May 11, he will be at Coffee Talk at 507 W. Marshall Street in Norristown from 6 to 8 p.m.
