Driver for E. Norriton-Based Ambulance Company Arrested

The man headed for home with the ambulance he was driving after being fired by a manager.

According to NBC10, a driver for East Norriton-based NovoCare Ambulance was arrested on Tuesday, April 24, after he led Philadelphia Police on a chase for almost an hour.

Reports say the trouble started when the police spotted the ambulance parked at Germantown and Stenton avenues in what police called a "suspicious" spot. Police called NovoCare and a manager contacted the driver – who was supposed to be picking up a patient at a Pottstown hospital – and the driver allegedly lied about his whereabouts. The manager reportedly told the driver he was fired and he should return the ambulance.

The driver allegedly made threats of an unknown nature and headed home with the ambulance, driving past the agency without dropping off the ambulance or his partner. The partner then reportedly called police and informed them he was being held against his will.
