EMS Workers Deliver Baby at William Penn Inn

EMS service providers from Volunteer Medical Services Corps of Lansdale and Community Ambulance Association of Ambler delivered a baby girl on Monday night at William Penn Inn.

On Monday night, around 9 p.m., Volunteer Medical Services Corps of Lansdale and Community Ambulance Association of Ambler were dispatched to the parking lot of William Penn Inn.

A couple, who was headed to Montgomery Hospital after the wife’s water broke, called for local EMS workers when labor was moving faster than they could.

Lansdale EMT Natalie Corapai delivered the new baby girl, and the family was transported to Montgomery Hospital.

Scott Welker, Executive Director of Community Ambulance Association of Ambler, said the two EMS workers with Ambler Ambulance and the two EMS workers with Lansdale all traveled with the family to the hospital.

Jack Heleniak, Director of Volunteer Medical Services Corps of Lansdale, said there is a tradition with Volunteer Medical Services Corps of Lansdale, when service providers deliver a baby, they receive a blue or pink stork pin to commemorate the event.

Mom and baby are doing fine, said Heleniak.
