Former St. Titus Altar Boy Files Civil Suit Against Archdiocese

Eight suits were filed against the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on Tuesday by nine different plaintiffs alleging abuse by Catholic priests.

According to the Associated Press, eight more civil lawsuits were filed against the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on Tuesday, including one by Michael McDonnell, a former altar boy at Saint Titus in East Norriton, who said he was abused by two different priests over the course of several years in the 1980s.

"When I look at that picture I remember what happened," McDonnell, holding a photo of himself as a sixth-grader at St. Titus School, told CBS at a press conference on Tuesday. "I see a sad face in that photo."

McDonnell reportedly suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, drug addiction and other mental illnesses as a result of the abuse.

Lawyers for the men said their clients decided to come forward after the conviction of Monsignor William Lynn. Lynn is the first U.S. church official convicted in such a case.
