Patrick Kurtas didn’t predict the outcome of a softball game other than to say it will be competitive, fun and the old guys will probably win.

Again.

Kurtas, an attorney at Prince & Kurtas in Pottstown, will play in the Montgomery Bar Association’s annual "Old Lawyers vs. Young Lawyers" softball game at Norristown Area High School on Tuesday, Aug 2. Players will take the field at 5:15 p.m. 

The event will include local lawyers and judges in a legal community tradition that dates back to 1956. At that time, young lawyers of the Montgomery Bar competed against local teams including the Norristown Police Department, Norristown Post Office, Pennsylvania State Police and bar associations from neighboring counties, according to Jack Costello, the association’s marketing manager.

The Old Lawyers team in past years dominated the annual game, said Kurtas. 

“I’ve played four to five times now,” Kurtas said. “It’s just an enjoyable time.” 

Kurtas is on the Young team.

"I'm not going to commit to us winning," Kurtas said.
