The holiday season is a big time for couples getting engaged. Let's face it, the only thing that sparkles more than tinsel on the tree is a new engagement ring. We here at Norristown Patch know it only too well – we aided and abetted a holiday proposal just last week.

So if you're one of those happy couples getting engaged this holiday, your engagement could come with an all-expenses-paid wedding, courtesy of Visit Bucks County and Philadelphia Magazine. All you have to do is go the Greatest Groom Contest on the Philadelphia Magazine website, fill in some basic information, add a photo and explain why your groom-to-be is awesome in 200 words or less. (Sue Conway, we have a few ideas for you.)

It's that simple and the prize package is pretty impressive. In addition to things like the cake, a disc jockey, lodging, video and limousines, the whole event will take place at the historic Pen Ryn Mansion. Want more? Well, how about having your entire wedding immortalized in Philadelphia Wedding? 

It's not surprise that response to the contest as been strong, but Michelle Greco Falcone, Visit Bucks County’s Communications Manager, said she's hoping for some post-holiday entries.

"We were hoping for 100 entries and we're already there," she said. "But we're hoping for a spike after Christmas."

THe deadline is Dec. 31 and the winner will be announced in Febraury at the Bucks County Bridal Show. Neither the bride nor the groom need to be from Bucks County to win.
