News Next Door: Cop Saves Dog From Schuykill River
The dog was reportedly trapped under a log.
A dog may be man's best friend, but every now and then, man returns the favor. Monday morning in Royersford was one of those times.
Shortly before 9 a.m., Royersford Police Department patrolman Mark Smythe received a radio report from a passerby that a dog was trapped under a log in the Schuylkill River.
Smythe responded to the scene, jumped into the river, and rescued the dog with the help of bystanders. The dog was treated by a local veterinarian and later returned to his owners.
