Norristown Area Education Foundation Hires New Director

Jessica Hickman Schneider will take the reins at NAEF as its new executive director.

According to a release from the Norristown Area Education Foundation (NAEF), the foundation is pleased to announce that Jessica Hickman Schneider, MS, has been hired as Executive Director. Ms. Schneider brings over fourteen years of nonprofit management experience to the NAEF and is a dynamic leader in the human services field.

"I am very excited about working for NAEF," said Schneider. "The foundation has a wonderful board of directors who is enthusiastic and committed to the mission of our organization. Having worked in the Norristown area for over a decade, it’s nice to be back in this diverse and welcoming community."

Ms. Schneider is a 2003 graduate of Eastern University with a Master of Science degree in Nonprofit Management. She served on the board of directors for the Disability Rights Network of Pennsylvania and was recently appointed to the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission’s Montgomery County Advisory Board. Ms. Schneider currently volunteers with Compeer of Suburban Philadelphia and the German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue of Pennsylvania. She lives in Gilbertsville with her husband and daughter.

“We are happy to have Jessica on board at NAEF. Her energy, knowledge and leadership are exactly what we need to propel the Foundation into the future,” said Dan Delaney, President of the Board of the Norristown Area Education Foundation.

The Norristown Area Education Foundation provides independent financial funding to support challenging and enriching innovations that will maximize the learning potential of all students in the Norristown Area School District. NAEF raises money to fund innovative programs throughout the Norristown Area School District, like robotics, Smart Boards in every classroom and an iMac Lab.
