Norristown Natives Inducted Into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Franny Beecher and Al Rex of Bill Haley & His Comets were among those inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday.
According to CBS3, two Norristown natives were among the star-studded list of those being honored on Saturday by being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – lead guitarist Franny Beecher and bassist Al Rex of Bill Haley & His Comets.
Haley himself was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, but his band –the Comets – weren't similarly honord until yesterday.

Sad that John Grande the Key Board/Piano Player was not mentioned, went to school with his son and they lived at the Thaddus Lowe House on W. MAIN ST. KEEP THE BUZZ GOING.....Happy Birthday Norristown....

Johnny Grande was definitely inducted but he's listed as a South Philly boy in Wikipedia. Nice to know he spent some time in Norristown. Thanks Mary Ellen!

because he was unable to make such a trip for health reasons
