Norristown's Wyatt Named Atlantic 10 Conference 'Player of the Week'

Temple University Owl and Norristown native Khalif Wyatt was named Atlantic 10 Conference and Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week last week.

We love it when a local boy makes good and Norristown's Khalif Wyatt is making great.

According to Temple University's Athletic Department website, Wyatt, a junior at the college and a guard with the Owls, was named the Atlantic 10 Conference and Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week last week.

According to the site, the Norristown native averaged 25 points, 4 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 3 assists in leading the Owls to 1-1 week. Wyatt scored a game-high 22 points and made a career-high five steals in Temple's 78-73 upset of Duke on Jan. 4. He followed that with a career-high 28 points, making a career-best five three-pointers in an 87-77 loss to Dayton on Jan. 7. He scored 11 of those points in the final 3:15 in an attempt to rally the Owls.

For the season, Wyatt ranks second on the Owls and seventh in the Atlantic 10 in scoring with a 15.8 average. He leads the team in three-point percentage and steals, ranking fifth in the league in that category.
