One Benefit to Living in Norristown? Discounts
Safelite AutoGlass charges customers based on their zipcode and Norristown residents pay less than neighboring towns.
According to a report by 6ABC, Safelite AutoGlass, a national chain that repairs and replaces car windshields and windows, charges customers different prices based on the zip code they give when ordering the service.
The Action News team had their hidden cameras rolling as they visited a Cherry Hill Safelite location to get a windshield replaced. The folks at Safelite asked them to book the job online, which they did. They entered several different zip codes when ordering the same job for the same car and got several different prices.
According to the Action News team, Norristown residents would be charged $258.95 for a new windshield, but customers from East Norriton would pay $298.95. Folks in Chestnut Hill would be charged $338.95 for the same job.

Safelite defended it's pricing practices saying, "...This pricing approach allows us to be competitive with the glass shops the customer is likely to call... We believe our pricing model is fair and offers value."
