Patch Poll: Best Take Out in Norristown

Norristown's full of great eateries that let you bring home the goods for the whole family. We want to know who does it best.

Say what you will about Norristown, but in the last few years we've had Renaissance of restaurants. The average Norristown-area resident does not go wanting for good food in the municipality. You've got your pick of the litter when you're heading home from work and don't feel like firing up the oven.

Ask folks around here for their favorite take out spot and you'll get a line up of usual suspects that no one would turn their nose up at – August Moon, Main Street Pizzeria & Grille, Via Veneto's, Zachary's BBQ, Super Wok, Mama Venezia's, Sessano's and Taqueria La Michoacana regularly top the list.

But who reigns supreme? Sure, the best take out on any given night is whatever you're craving at that moment (be it Chinese, Italian, Mexican, BBQ, etc.), but 'fess up – there's one spot that always has you coming back for more.

Vote for your favorite spot in our poll below by 9 a.m. Friday. We'll present the winner with a certificate proclaiming their culinary mastery. If there's a tie, we'll use positive comments in our comment section to break it so be sure to tell us why you love your favorite spot so.

Oh, and if we missed your favorite spot, let us know in the comments and we'll add it to the poll. If you want to vote for a take out place in a neighboring Patch, feel free to visit Perkiomen Valley Patch, Lower Gwynedd-Ambler-Whitpain Patch or Montgomeryville-Lansdale Patch.

Editorial Note: We've added Rocco's Brick Oven Pizzeria, Diva's Kitchen and Domino's to our poll at readers' request.

Hi Tameka,
Glad to do it. We've heard good things!
As for the blue fonts, those are hyperlinks to the restaurant's page in our directory. We don't have Diva's Kitchen in our directory yet. I submitted a priority request to our directory team earlier today to add you. You should be hearing from someone by the end of the day tomorrow. Give me a call if you don't – 610-308-9881.

I know these are technically not in Norristown, but they are in the "area" so lets not forget, Pho Thai Nam @ the Hillcrest Shopping Plaza and the new Chinese Place @ Northtowne Shopping Plaza.

Kevin,
We're saving those for when we launch East-West Norriton Patch (hopefully soon!).

Keith,
That is the most tempting two square blocks in Norristown. :)

Hey James and everyone willing to share their opinion,
Carolyn just got me hip to what totally needs to happen...big or small, solidarity among businesses in the food scene for any town is crucial to COMMUNICATION, growth and reciprocity. Can Patch be the place where we can all communicate? I mean...I am a high profile professional chef (by media standards and gracious opinions) who believes in the love I get by doing business in the greater Norristown area. I am from the NYC/NJ area born and raised, but, loving the new home for Zachary's BBQ, and I feel there is no one resource that tells me or shares all about all the great food businesses in town. Can Norristown Patch be that resource? Let's talk and I will be the first to throw my humble hat in the ring to host a Patch event, or blog to bring at least the foodies and food fans together to help promote our belief in sharing the treasure of Norristown being a great place to live, work, play...AND EAT!!!

Your thoughts?

Keith, I think this is a brilliant idea and I will gladly make the Patch platform available to any local businesses who would like to use it communicate better with their customers and other business owners. My mission with Norristown Patch is to better connect our community. If I can do that with food, I'll consider that a double win. :)
Keith, I'll stop by this afternoon to see if you're free for a chat.

If there were ever to be named a doppleganger for great New York style "sicilian pie" in Pennsylvania...it is only on Markley Street at Via Veneto's!

That's exactly what I am talking about...Norristown has edible treasures and food traditions that cannot be ignored, AND emerging stars yet to be discovered!
