Pierce Trial Postponed
Brenden Pierce is accused of murdering 16-year-old Dominique Devlin in July of last year in retaliation for a botched home invasion she helped plan against him.
According to The Times Herald, the trial of 20 year-old Brenden Pierce was scheduled to begin this week with jury selection on Monday, April 23, but a request for a continuance by the defense was granted by Judge Thomas Branca on Friday, April 20.
Pierce is accused of shooting and killing 16-year-old Dominique Devlin on July 20, 2011, in retribution for allegedly setting him up to be robbed in a home invasion earlier in the year. The home invasion was botched by the actors who were taken into custody by police the night of the intended robbery.
Assistant District Attorney Nathan Schadler told the Herald the trial may not begin until the fall.
