Police Briefs

The following information was supplied by the Norristown Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Theft

  • According to reports from the Norristown Police Department said there were thefts from several vehicles in the 100 block of Forrest Avenue Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 4:55 a.m. Police reported David Brian Medina, of Astor Street, was seen in one of the vehicles with the light on and, when police approached him, he ran. Police said a subject matching Medina’s description was later found at the Forrest Green Apartments, where he again ran from police, this time throwing a pill bottle with one of the theft victim’s names on it behind him. Police reported other reportedly stolen items were found on the suspect upon his arrest.

Shots fired

  • Three shots were reportedly heard at Oak and Kohn Streets Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 1:27 a.m., police said. Police reported a highly intoxicated witness stated she had seen a black male with a gun approach a victim standing in the intersection and shoot at the victim, but that the victim ran.

Possession

  • Police said Brandon Williams, of 614 W. Marshall St., was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 11:15 p.m. after he was caught urinating on a vacant house in the 700 block of Astor Street. Police said officers found five clear plastic bags containing suspected marijuana on the suspect’s person.
  • Raymond Palestini, of Philadelphia, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 17 at 3:38 a.m. in the 600 block of Church Street after he drove through a red light in a gray SUV. Police said he was asked to step out of the vehicle, and officers found a bag with a rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine at the suspect’s feet after his exit. Palestini then provided police false identification information, police said. Police said car passenger Victoria Cox, of 530 Church St., was found to be in possession of many baggies of various size and color, several torn, and pieces of a crack pipe and screening. Police said Cox was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Stolen bicycle

  • A bicycle was stolen from in the 300 block of Haws Avenue Aug. 17 at 6:05 p.m., police said a victim reported.
