Breaking and Entering

• According to reports from the Norristown Police Department, a victim reported to police that she came home to the 300 block of East Moore Street from work and discovered a window broken and opened Monday, Jan. 16. She state her husband and son were home all evening but did not hear anything. There was no report of anything taken from the residence. A victim’s rights handout was issued.

Disorderly Conduct

• Michael L. Carty, of the 100 block of Glenn Oak Road, was cited for disorderly conduct Wednesday, Jan. 11. Carty was driving a 2002 Subaru Forester, which was stopped, issued citation and subsequently towed. An inventory search of the vehicle reportedly revealed a small plastic bag of suspected marijuana. Carty was cited by mail and the contraband was confiscated and placed into evidence.
• Ryan Johnson, of the 400 block of East Main Street, was cited for disorderly conduct Wednesday, Jan. 11. He was allegedly begging pedestrians for money at Arch and Main streets.

Theft 

• A handicap placard was reported stolen from a van parked on the 1100 block of Green Street Thursday, Jan. 12. The victim stated she did not know who might have stolen the placard and was issued a victim’s rights form.
• A GPS, purse and cash were reported stolen from a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer parked on the 100 block of West Johnson Highway during the Sunday, Jan. 15 and Monday, Jan. 16, overnight. The door to the vehicle reportedly were left unlock, which is how the thief gained entry to the vehicle.
• Volleyball equipment was reportedly stolen from a 2008 KIA Rondo parked in the train parking lot on West Main and Markley streets Friday, Jan. 13. The thief gained entry to the vehicle by breaking a passenger door window. The estimated cost of damage and missing items is $400.
• Police were dispatched to the Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library on the 1000 block of Powell Street Wednesday, Jan. 11, for a report of a theft. The victim states she sat down at a computer and set down two white plastic bags. When she looked down shortly after, the bags were gone. The bags reportedly contained a pair of suede boots and a corduroy hat. The combined value of the items is $160. There are no known suspects and security stated there are no cameras. The victim was advised of her rights and issued a victim’s rights pamphlet.
• A black wheelchair was reported stolen to police Wednesday, Jan. 11. The victim states that sometime between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, someone stole the victim's wheelchair from the common hallway of the first floor at a residence on the 300 block of Buttonwood Avenue.

Vandalism

• The rearview mirrors to a 2001 Pontiac Grand AMGT were reportedly broken off of the vehicle sometime during the Sunday, Jan. 15 and Monday, Jan. 15, overnight. The vehicle was parked on the 600 block of Stanbridge Street at the time the vandalism occurred. Police state they observed the mirrors hanging by the power cord. A victim’s form was issued.
• The passenger-side window to a 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe was reportedly damaged after being shot with several BBs during the Sunday, Jan. 15 and Monday, Jan. 15, overnight, police said. The vehicle was parked on the 200 block of West Fornance Street when the damage occurred. A victim’s form was issued.
• An unknown person reportedly smashed the back window of a 2000 Dodge Voyager during the Sunday, Jan. 15 and Monday, Jan. 15, overnight. Nothing was reported stolen from inside. The vehicle was parked on the 200 block of Pine Street.
• A 2012 Cadillac SRX was reportedly keyed from the front to the rear on the driver’s side Saturday, Jan. 14. The vehicle was parked on the 400 block of East Main Street at the time it was vandalized. There are no known suspects in the case.
• Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Green Street in reference to a window being broken Wednesday Jan. 11. The victim stated the alleged vandal came to the house to visit but was denied entry by the victim. The victim said it was too late and the accused then allegedly banged on the front door until a small window was shattered. Police observed the broken window on the scene. The victim said the accused threatened, “I’m gonna get mines,” and states she does not have a permanent address. The victim’s was advised of his rights and issued a victim’s rights pamphlet.

Terroristic Threats

• Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Forrest Avenue for a report of a gun shot Friday, Jan.13. A witness told police he witnessed a neighbor come out of his residence with a holstered “glock.” The gunman then allegedly told the victim, “Shut the [expletive] up or I will shoot you.” The victim states he then fled the building and said he never had any previous conduct with the accused. The accused told police he has a carry permit and said he never fired his weapon. Police checked the apartment of the accused and found no evidence of a gunshot. No shell casings or bullet holes were observed and state the weapon did not look like it was recently fired. 

Harassment

• A victim reported allegedly being harassed by her ex-husband. She stated she was in the Uptown's Roo House Tavern when he came in. He allegedly confronted her as she got into her vehicle. He reportedly slapped her in the face after commenting on her talking with another male. The victim states she feared he was going to hit her again so she closed the vehicle’s door. According to the report, the victim was not injured and advised on how to obtain a protection from abuse order.
• A resident went to the police station Sunday, Jan. 8, to report she was being harassed on Facebook. The victim printed out a copy of the threats and turned them over to police. The victim was advised of her rights and issued a victim’s rights pamphlet.
• A citation for harassment was mailed to Joseph Cimino, of the 700 block of West Marshall Street Thursday, Jan. 5. Cimino is accused of pushing a victim several times and causing arm pain as a result of the alleged incident. 

Seizure of Registration

• Police seized the registration from a 2001 Isuzu Trooper due to a suspended license plate Friday, Jan. 13. The tag was seized and vehicle towed.

Found Property

• A resident who stated she found a wallet in the parking lot of the West Norriton Wal-mart Monday, Jan. 16, flagged police down. The wallet contained a state identification card, several credit cards and a book of stamps. The wallet was placed into evidence for safekeeping.
• A Wells Fargo debit card was turned into police Saturday, Jan. 14. An individual reportedly found the card on West Marshall Street. It was placed into evidence at the police station.

Tampering with Mail

• Police responded to the 100 block of Hartranft Street Wednesday, Jan. 11 for a report of tampering with a United States Postal Service package. The victim told police that someone opened a package that was delivered to his front door. Nothing was taken from the package; however, police state it was clear someone intentionally opened the package. The victim was advised of his rights and issued a victim’s rights pamphlet.

Matter of Record

• A resident went to the police station Sunday, Jan. 15, to report a hazardous road condition on the 300 block of Ford Street, According to the reporting person, he was walking on the eastern side of the street when he slipped and fell on ice. He states there is a continual flow of water from a spring, which leaks onto the street and turns icy. The individual said he struck his right knee on the ground but did not need emergency medical assistance. There reportedly are no sidewalks on that block.

Warrants

• James Richet, of the 200 block of West Spruce Street, was arrested for two active fine and cost warrants Wednesday, Jan. 11. Police were dispatched to the above address for a report of a disturbance. An investigation revealed two active warrants for Richet. He was arrested and transported to the police station.
• John Starks IV, of the 300 block of East Penn Street, was arrested for two outstanding fine and cost warrants Thursday, Jan. 12. Police were dispatched to Starks’ residence for a report of a disturbance and discovered the active warrants. He was taken into custody and held for arraignment.
• Victor J. Pacheco-Ortiz, of the 500 block of Noble Street, was arrested for active fine and cost warrants Wednesday, Jan. 11. Police pulled of over a 1999 Chevrolet 1500 for insurance revocation. The operator of the vehicle, Pacheco-Ortiz, was found to have six active fine and cost warrants valued at $1,760. He was arrested and taken to the police station to be held for arraignment.
• Stephanie A. Mahon, of the 800 block of Harris Avenue, was arrested for an active criminal warrant Wednesday, Jan. 11. She was taken into custody while on the 300 block of DeKalb Street. She was taken to the station, arraigned and released on unsecured bail.
