Here we go again, another shooting--a drive by--within blocks of my home. What are the police doing to crack down? What is City Council doing to ensure NPD have the resources they need to fight rising crime and shootings in Norristown? Better yet, what are these degenerates doing to identify these criminals? NOTHING!

Is anyone else concerned with Bono's retiring; with Richet stepping into the Chief role? Don't get me wrong, Richet seems like a nice guy. But lets face it, he's not the sharpest tool in the shed! I'm considering stocking up on assault weapons because I have little confidence in Richet's ability as a (soon-to-be) Chief!

We need a new chief to step in who will be effective in fighting the rising crime in this City. A Chief who is willing to fight for resources, who is willing to break the "status quo" that has plagued this city for years!

It sounds like racial tensions are going to snap reading these comments. This is the North Philly of montgomery county. Evidently the cops here just dont care. Its niggas killing niggas. So there for norristown will go back to being lily white as when it was founded. Black people are slaves here and the law is allowing it. I think Norristown needs a top notch undercover team to get out there on the streets and take these guys down with either guns, drugs, or conspiracy charges. Actually that's what the top "detective" at the NPD wants. Anytime you have a person involved in a shooting, person shot in the stomach, shell casings found in the car that the suspect was in at the shooting, question him about recent shooting and he told them he was involved and you let him go should be questioned. Not saying that person was involved with this shooting too but maybe who knows. This shit is sad anymore. They are too busy sitting around worrying about the wrong person acting like they don't know or hear the truth on the streets. They know and heard about people from out of town and they know what town they are from so get on the ball and find out who's really beefing and if I was any parent that this boy harmed while they let him loose I'd sue the shit out of them too.

The problem we are having is not a white or black issue, its a community issue. Norristown is melting pot and all races are almost equally represented. The community has to do there part and assist the Police department, not the"Black Cop" or " White Cop" The Police! Positive energy gets positive results.

Update, once again the victim is not cooperating as in the other shooting with that victim not cooperating. No cooperation means RETALIATION and if they don't want to cooperate then they need to automatically be locked up until they want to cooperate. People need to tell what they see but at the same time when they tell what they see it often gets ignored because the detectives on these shooting cases are full of shit and they want it to be a certain person whom they want to just take off the streets. Nobody tells because they know how ignorant they are, they don't protect you because they don't give 2 ducks about you and they tell the suspect that you told them just to make it worse. FBI needs to come in and investigate these shootings, suspects and those damn detectives on ALL of these unsolved shootings dating back to how long certain detectives been on the cases. They need to see why these cases were solved but these certain one's weren't and they need to talk to the vistim's families to see what if any the outcome was.

Some of the comments on here are absurd. The cops don't care? Black people are slaves here? You can't be serious.

1- The cops are the ones RISKING THEIR LIVES to try and stop these black kids from being killed. They respond to calls knowing that at any second they will be shot and killed themselves. And for what? For a bunch of people who won't even offer up any information about who, what, where and why. If those involved won't talk, how is that the cops fault?!

2- Everyone upset that the cops aren't doing enough..what do you want them to do? Yeah, they know the problem areas, but other than driving up and down have making themselves seen, there isnt anything else they can do without EVIDENCE and WITNESSES which no one wants to provide. So unless you want them to begin racially profiling people, frisking folks just for being in a "bad part of town", or pulling you over because you "look suspicious", then there isn't much else they can do without your cooperation.

100% of that person's skin is the same as mine. If you didn't know his heritage you would not have assumed he was half African American and Half White. He is Black to Whites when he is wrong, and White to Whites when he is right. (That may be the same the other way around - ha ha). It doesn't matter who is shooting or at who, but the bottom line is gives our community bad press and puts a real hurting on our property values. Norristown is no longer safe and continues to decline with no end in sight. A special team of agents need to come in and clean house. The West End is the new six gun territory! All I can say is apply for a license to carry! My home was appraised 2 months ago for 20 percent under what I paid for it a couple years ago.

Why is it that white people assume that black people voted for Obama just because he's black. If we were to follow that logic we could assume that all of the white people that have ever voted against President Obama, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton during their presidential runs are racist also. Why is it that everytime one non-white person does something wrong their entire race/religion gets charged for it? But, the Oklahoma City bomber was white, the Atlanta Olympics bomber was white, over 80% of serial killers are white, and majority of violent crimes are commited by white people. crime and section 8 housing go hand in hand. what town has more section 8 then norristown?? NONE ! when you dont have to go to work to pay the rent or buy food and its all given to you what really are the expectations of some of these people.

End government benefits for all able-bodied under 65, and Norristown's problems will be solved in a year. The criminal element will move out when the money dries up, leaving the working and independent class, of all races, to thrive.
