This is absolutely terrible. The poor girl. I also feel for the man who killed her. He will always have that in his heart, on his conscience. It is so dangerous to be on foot in our area. We need more sidewalks, and stricter rules about stopping for pedestrians crossing the road. In the UK it is the law that cars MUST stop if someone has one foot on the 'zebra' crossing, as it is called, and they do stop, willingly. Unfortunately this country isn't set up to respect pedestrians or cyclists. I cant believe it when I see people having to walk along the dangerous 202 laden with groceries, as there are no sidewalks, it's really unacceptable, and putting lives in danger. Not everyone has or even wants a car. We shouldn't be risking our lives to go grocery shopping! Walking should be encouraged, not shunned...
