According to The Times Herald, Norristown Councilman-at-Large Dwayne Royster will be stepping down from his office effective April 5. Royster made the announcement at Tuesday's council meeting, citing work conflicts and a desire to spend more time with his family.
"I am not leaving Norristown," Royster said, according to the Herald. "I will continue to serve in any way that I can."
Council has 30 days to appoint a replacement who fill the seat until the November 2013 election. Royster was elected in 2011 to replace outgoing Councilman Bill Procyson.
