According to The Times Herald, Sean Michael McCullough, the 43-year-old Methacton High School teacher who was arrested earlier today, has admitted to having a sexual relationship with a student at the high school that began in 2009 when she was 17.
McCullough was arraigned Thursday, Aug. 16 on charges of corruption of a minor, endangering the welfare of a child, possession of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility. He was remanded to Montgomery County Correctional Facility and bail was set at $50,000.
"The safety and well-being of our students is our primary concern at all times. The district moved quickly to place this individual on administrative leave and is cooperating fully with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and the Lower Providence Police Department," Methacton School District Superintendent Timothy J. Quinn said in a statement released on Thursday.
The investigation was initiated in May when the girl's family found Facebook messages, texts and emails between the two of a sexual nature and reported it to authorities.
McCullough reportedly told authorities that he and the girl engaged in a myriad of intimate activities including "sex chats through emails, text messages and Facebook messages, mutual masturbation, exchanging of nude photographs, kissing and fondling each other."
