Wegmans Recalls Flour for Blue Balls, Breads for Wire Mesh

Wegmans Food Markets is recalling their store branded all-purpose flour and more than a dozen bread products.

Wegmans Food Markets has recalled the Wegmans branded all-purpose bleached flour, according to a report in the Democrat and Chronicle. The flour, which was sold in 5-pound packages with a best by date of 12/20/2013, may contain small blue polyurethane balls from the product's sifting equipment.

The flour was sold in store between Dec. 24 and Feb. 15.

Along with the store-branded flour, Wegmans is also recalled Wegmans branded bread products, including whole wheat pita bread, wheat hot dog and hamburger rolls, whole grain bread and more, that may contain thin pieces of wire mesh.

The bread products were sold in stores between Feb. 1 and Feb. 15, 2013.

All recalled products can be returned to the store for a full refund according to the recall alerts from Wegmans Food Markets.

Wegmans sells inferior store branded product. It is acquirer by TOPCO, Skokie, Illionois, and usually marketed under the "Food Club" brand. the best private label distributor in this region is ShopRite, which has its own food chemists in its HQ, and checks every item, before sent to area ShopRites. Grade A, and tested all the way. FREE Matzoh and Ham for Pesach at all area ShopRites. The BEST!!

You don't know what you're talking about. Wegmans store branded products are as good or better than regular branded products. They have comprehensive facilities in Rochester, NY where they develop their products with industry leading teams of food experts. ShopRite is a second class chain compared to Wegmans.

please i worked stocking Wegmans shelves in Malvern for 2 years and would find product out of date from at least 6 months or more. one night we had to toss over 50 bottles of Wegman brand miracle whip because they had been expired by several months. my manager wouldn't even let us report it because he thought it would hurt the stores image. I quit after they started giving me hell for actually taking time and checking the dates on the product i was filling

Wegmans is full of SXXt. They have too much power, and are not as good or cheap as they would lead you to believe. Please try Bottom Dollar, wher the money you save will pay for your maid.
