60 Miles Toward Finding a Cure—in Philly!

The tents have been packed up, the streets cleared and the sea of walkers in Philadelphia dressed in PINK have left! Thank you to all the communities, volunteers and many others who shared the experience and supported the Philadelpia 3-Day Walk this past weekend. It was an amazing experience and the people of Philadelphia were nothing short of wonderful to all the 1700 + walkers!

It is always amazing to me to see how many business owners, schools, neighbors and local communitiy members come out to support us walkers. Not only do they come out to cheer us on--they hand out water, candy, medical supplies and much more all along the route. Many even dress up in pink, bras everywhere and make signs to show their support.

Some noteable favorites were the streets of Chestnut Hill, The Beer and Bathroom stop in South Philly 5 miles from the finish line (a guy opened his home to us), the many schools that had their kids doing cheers and made signs, the Art Musuem, and last but not least--the food stops at Pat's, Gino's and Chickie & Petes on Day 3! The route was great and allowed us to tour Philly in a way that most people don't get to--including the 8 or 9 college campus tours we got and all the neighborhoods of Philly. I have a large list of "places to visit again".

I have included some pictures from my experience and only hope that my experience will create awareness for others to cure this terrible disease. I am proud to say that my team raised over $10,000 towards finding a cure!

Susan Komen causes Cancer. The pink ribbon fund gives your donated money to Planned Parenthood. Seventy-two epidemiological studies have been conducted since 1957; and 80% of these studies have shown that abortion increases the risk of breast cancer

SHHHH Bill. That is the dirty little secret that we are not suppose to know!

While my heart goes out to every cancer victim, there will never be a "cure". There is far too much money involved in "fundraising" and "cancer research". Stop and think how many people would be harmed financially should a cure be found? All these administrators would have to look for new work. All these things do is stroke the egos or ease a guilty conscience of the parties involved.

That argument conveniently leaves out the part about how all pregnancies, not just aborted ones, increase breast cancer risk for the short term - unsurprising, as the process changes the breast tissue itself. Aborted pregnancies don't protect against breast cancer in the long term, the way the full birthing cycle does, but that's a world of difference from 'causing cancer' - that whole line of reasoning is a stellar example in distorting and cherry-picking facts to make it conform to an agenda.

The Pill is Group 1 carcinogen.

Planned Parenthood had received about $700,000 annually from Komen to pay for breast examinations and provide access to mammograms for poor women.

After Lying About Providing Mammograms, Planned Parenthood Outraged That Breast Cancer Charity Cuts Off Grants, but Kormen then back tracks and continues funding Planned Parenthood.

So where is your money going? Abortions (over 50 million abortions in America) & providing birth control (including minors).

The Pill - The World Health Organization's acknowledgement that oral contraceptives and hormone replacement therapy containing estrogen and progestin are
"Group 1 carcinogens." (Press Release #167, July 29, 2005);
Other Group I carcinogens are; Mustard gas (Sulfur mustard), Asbestos and Neutron radiation.

Before anybody panics, sunlight, sawdust, beer, and many dandruff shampoos are also group 1 carcinogens, so take all that with a grain of salt. Oral contraceptives prevent some types of cancer, as well - read the whole list of side-effects and make an educated decision:

@morgan Talk about cherry picking. Look at the source of the article you submitted. Their way of distorting the truth was to break it down into each type of cancer and how the Pill effects the rates of cancer.
So lets look at it:
Long-term use of oral contraceptives (5 or more years) is associated with an increased risk of cervical cancer (12). An analysis of 24 epidemiologic studies found that the longer a woman used oral contraceptives, the higher her risk of cervical cancer. con't

@morgan they also reported
Oral contraceptive use is associated with an increase in the risk of benign liver tumors.
World Health Organization, data from eight studies were combined to assess the association between oral contraceptive use and cervical cancer risk among women infected with the human papillomavirus (HPV). Researchers found a nearly threefold increase in risk among women who had used oral contraceptives for 5 to 9 years compared with women who had never used oral contraceptives. Among women who had used oral contraceptives for 10 years or longer, the risk of cervical cancer was four times higher

Really?
