The polls have all reported in and while there wasn't much of a contest anywhere on the board in our area (except for the special election in the 153rd to fill Josh Shapiro's vacated seat), folks have been wondering who we'll be sending to the national conventions to represent the parties locally this year. Keep in mind these results are unofficial. Here's the rundown: Republicans The Republicans in District 13 (which includes Norristown and parts of East Norriton) were looking for three names for the convention in Tampa Bay, Florida in August. Casey, Kane shrug off primary challenges; Montgomery County results.
Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney had little trouble winning the Pennsylvania Republican primary for President of the United States, with his closest competition coming from a man who no longer is in the race. Romney finished with 57 percent of the vote, followed by former Sen. Rick Santorum at 19 percent. Santorum withdrew from the race earlier this month. Texas congressman Ron Paul finished third with 13 percent, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was last with 11 percent of the vote. Montgomery County Republicans gave Romney a more emphatic nod than the rest of the state, awarding him about 67 percent of the vote. Santorum captured about 13 percent of the county vote, which still gave him 44 more votes than libertarian …

The candidates are setting up shop in Pennsylvania in preparation for the state's April 24 primary.
Republican candidates Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum are in Pennsylvania, wooing republican voters in anticipation of the April 24 primary election.
