Local Montco man entering 5K Walk-4-Trykes for charity at convention in FT. Worth, TX

Rick Williams, a resident of Royersford, will be attending the National Ambuc Convention in Ft. Worth, TX in July and will be walking in the 8th annual Trek-4-Trykes on Saturday, July 27.  It’s a 5k walk (in what is promising to be in 100+ heat.)   Money raised benefits the Ambuc program of providing special therapeutic tricycles to individuals with disabilities.  Every dollar donated goes directly towards the purchase of an AmTryke. You can donate at: http://www.active.com/donate/trek2013/Rick4Trykes

Most of the AmTrykes are designed so that the individual can pedal with their hands/arms and it then exercises their legs as they pedal and experience a level of mobility not experienced before.  It makes a tremendous difference in their lives.  The majority of kids either suffer with cerebral palsy or muscular dystrophy or some other developmental issue.   Local PA chapters of Ambucs have donated dozens of AmTrykes over the years and it’s always a joy to meet the kids and see them ride around in the Bay Pony Restaurant’s  meeting room (where the dinner meetings are held and where the Trykes are sometimes presented) or, when the AmTrykes to their homes, in their own driveways—or sometimes even in their living room!.  (You can learn more about Ambucs and this program at:www.Ambucs.org).

Rick needs your help as he's set himself a pretty high monetary goal for this walk-a-thon.  Any donation would be greatly appreciated.  If you are inclined to donate something--just click on this link: http://www.active.com/donate/trek2013/Rick4Trykes  The donation can be made with a credit card at that site.
