Area High School Students Volunteer For the Holidays

Dakota Clanagan and Jared Jones spent the Saturday before Christmas volunteering with the In His Eyes Outreach's children's program, DAKMAK.

From In His Eyes Outreach:

Two area student football players spent a recent Saturday giving back to the community. On Saturday, Dec. 22, Dakota Clanagan, of Perkiomen Valley High School, and Jared Jones, of Springford High School, volunteered with In His Eyes Outreach's children's program – "Dads and Kids, Moms and Kids" (DAKMAK) – in Norristown.

In His Eyes Outreach is a non-profit organization that works with women who have come out of prison, rehab or a shelter. Services include career and life-skills training, court advocacy, mentoring for men and women, recovery support groups, and education planning in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. The DAKMAK program works with area children who have a parent in jail

Under the leadership of Carla Clanagan, the program founder, the D.A.K.M.A.K. program provided toys and bikes to over 100 children in our area. In His Eyes Outreach would like to thank the many partners who helped to make this year the program's biggest year ever and to the volunteers who spent hours sorting and bagging gifts.
