Celebrate the Holidays By Giving Gifts That Help Others

Valley View Community Church in Audubon is hosting an alternative gift market for your socially-conscious holiday gift shopping needs.

From Valley View Community Church:

Are you interested in a holiday season with less emphasis on material gift giving? Valley View Community Church, at 778 Sunnyside Avenue in Audubon, is sponsoring an Alternative Gift Market on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. where shoppers can visit a festive holiday market and find "gifts" to honor family and friends in the true spirit of the season. Tax-deductible donations to charitable organizations make wonderful alternatives to traditional gifts and can teach children the meaning of giving.

At the market, shoppers can choose from a diverse collection of local, national, and international nonprofit organizations with established track records of helping people, animals and the environment. Gift-giving opportunities range from $5 to $60 for items that will benefit your chosen charity. For example: $5 buys supplies for 55 breakfasts at the Norristown Hospitality Center; $10 buys a month of clean drinking water for a family in Africa through Come Unity.
