East Norriton Set for Additional Water Line Upgrades

The upgrades will be provided by Pennsylvania American Water

From Pennsylvania American Water:

NORRISTOWN, Pa. – Pennsylvania American Water today announced the start of several water main replacement projects in East Norriton Township to improve service reliability for customers and increase water flows for firefighting. The new projects, with a combined cost of approximately $375,000, will replace approximately 2,400 feet of aging pipe that dates back to the early 1950s.

Starting this week, crews will install eight-inch ductile iron pipe along Hillcrest Avenue between Sadaro Lane and Fairview Road. The company will also install new water lines along Sadaro Lane and Woodlyn Avenue. The new projects in East Norriton follow Pennsylvania American Water’s investment of approximately $254,000 last month to install nearly 1,300 feet of new eight-inch ductile-iron water main along Independence Road.

Construction will take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., and motorists are urged to find alternate routes. The company expects to complete the water main installation, including transfer of all customer services by the fall. Weather permitting, final paving restoration will take place either in October 2013 or by spring 2014.

During construction, customers might experience temporary service interruptions, discolored water and/or lower than normal water pressure. Crews will work as quickly as possible to shorten the length of these temporary inconveniences.
