East Norriton Water Main Replacement to Begin Soon

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (July 3, 2013) – Pennsylvania American Water today announced the start of water main replacement in East Norriton Township to improve service reliability for customers and increase water flows for firefighting. The project, with an estimated cost of $254,000, will replace approximately 1,300 feet of aging pipe that dates back to the early 1960s. 

Starting the week of July 8, crews will install new eight-inch ductile-iron water main along Independence Road between Taft and Eisenhower roads. 

Construction will take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., and motorists are urged to find alternate routes. The company expects to complete the water main installation, including transfer of all customer services and final paving restoration, by November. 

During construction, customers might experience temporary service interruptions, discolored water and/or lower than normal water pressure. Crews will work as quickly as possible to shorten the length of these temporary inconveniences.
