2012 National Dog Show Winners

Dogs were judged in breed competitions during the morning hours, in groups later in the afternoon and for Best in Show.

173 breeds and over 1500 dogs were whittled down to seven group winners and one Best of Breed dog during the National Dog Show presented by Purina, which was taped on Saturday Nov. 17 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks.

Best in Show

The Best in Show winner was the Wire Fox Terrier Sky. Sky is the same breed at the 2011 Best in Show winner, Eira.

Sky's handler, Gabriel Rangel, has handled three of the last four National Dog Show winners.

I always felt the National Dog Show was fixed. I am convinced after this year. The judges pick their own favorite breeds. Not really the breed that should win. There were 2 dogs in the sporting group that was just totally ignored. The Black Labrador Retriever & the Golden Retriever was not even considered. I've never seen such a beautiful Golden Retriever & the Black Lab was also beautiful. Neither was even chosen as the 5 runners up. I'm not saying the Field Spaniel wasn't pretty, but to totally ignore the Black Lab & Golden Retriever the way this judge did is a real misjustice. Next year you need to really think about your judges.

its a highly political sport.

There should be a panel of judges not one for each judging.
