Norristown Celebrates Its First Riverfest at Riverfront Park

Norristown's first Riverfest celebration plans to bring the community for food, music, dragon boat rides for kids, and more.

Norristown’s First Riverfest celebration, which also serves as a rededication of Riverfront Park, will be held there on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the public is invited to food, music, free dragon boat rides for kids, the unveiling of a dragon mural, and more.

The event, which is organized by Norristown borough, the Norristown Business Association (NBA), ACCPA Arts Center, Norristown Sign-a-Rama, and the Dragon Boat Club of Norristown, also serves as a rededication of the park and unveiling of a dragon mural painted by the local ACCPA Arts Center.

There will also be activities and games for kids. They will also honor some of the local community organizations.

“I’m looking forward to the community coming together. I think the riverfront is a hidden gem with a lot of potential. We’re just hoping that this will be a kickoff to many more great events,” said Edward Turner, a Riverfest organizer and founder of the NBA.
