Philadelphians Rank Among Worst Drivers

Allstate looked at data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Annual Estimates of the Population for Incorporated Places and ranked 195 cities for America’s Best Drivers.

Philadelphia ranked 189 out of 195, which is actually a step up from last year, when the City of Brotherly Love ranked 190.

The top cities were

  1. Fort Collins, CO

  • Boise, ID

  • Sioux Falls, SD

  • Brownsville, TX

  • Madison, WI

  • If you want to know how other big cities ranked, New York ranked 172, Los Angeles ranked 181, Chicago ranked 150 and Houston ranked 151. The other Pennsylvania city on the list, Pittsburgh, ranked 173.  

    The numbers cited in the report for Philadelphia are its population rank, which is 5, the most recent population estimate of more than 1.5 million people, 6 average years between accidents and 65.9 percent relative accident likelihood to the national average.
