are searching for a Philadelphia man wanted for evading police during a high-speed pursuit in March.
Ansord Rashied, 32, of the 4700 block of Wallace Place, Philadelphia, also has an active warrant for burglary in Whitemarsh Township.
Police believe Rashied may be residing in the Norristown or Collegeville area.
Police said that on March 31, 2012 at 8 p.m., police responded to 639 South Broad Street to investigate a suspicious auto, identified as a dark blue 2003 Honda Pilot.
A police officer approached and spoke with the driver of the Pilot, identified as Rashied, police said.
As a second officer arrived on scene, Rashied took off at a high rate of speed southbound on Broad Street, police said.
Lansdale Police pursued the vehicle westbound on Sumneytown Pike from South Broad Street, yet the driver would not yield, police said.
Rashied allegedly fled onto the Pennsylvania Turnpike I-476 after speeding through the toll plaza without regard for other motorists, police said.
The pursuit was terminated for safety reasons, police said.
The owners of the Honda were contacted and they told police their vehicle was being repaired by a black male known as "Dido Johnson," police said.
Investigation revealed Johnson was Rashied, who was positively identified as the driver of the Honda on March 31, police said.
Upon capture, Rashied will be charged with the following in Lansdale:
