UPDATE: PA American Water Tending to West Norriton Water Main Break

Reports say the break occurred around the intersection of West Main St. and Montgomery Ave., and Center St., in West Norriton,

A water pipe break occurred around the intersection of West Main St. and Center St., and Montgomery Ave., in West Norriton Monday evening, where one traffic lane was closed, according to sources.

Pennsylvania American Water is on the scene and PennDOT will come through later to salt any ice that may have formed, West Norriton police said a little after 6 p.m. At that time, police said that drivers should exercise caution in the area.

According to Terry Maenza, Director of Communications & External Affairs of Pennsylvania American Water around 6:50 p.m., there is a break on an eight-inch cast iron pipe, which is affecting water service to about 25 customers on West Main St. and Center Ave. There will be repairs and from here, they do not expect a real impact to traffic.
