What's Open and What's Closed on Columbus Day in Norristown?
Columbus Day is Monday, Oct. 14.

Government: Norristown borough offices in Municipal Hall and Montgomery County government offices will be closed.
Libraries: Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library will be open.

Schools: Norristown Area School District schools will be open, as will St. Francis of Assisi School & ELC.
Trash/Recycling/Yard Waste: J.P. Mascaro will be picking up trash and recycling in Norristown.

PennDOT Drivers License Centers: PennDOT centers will be closed on Saturday, Oct. 12 and Monday, Oct. 14 for Columbus Day.
Banks: Columbus Day is a bank holiday.
Mail: USPS will not deliver mail on Monday, Oct. 14. UPS and FedEx will still deliver.
SEPTA: SEPTA will run on the regular weekday schedule for all services.
Liquor Stores: According to the PA Liquor Control Board website, most Wine & Spirits stores will be open for their regular Monday hours. However, some will have alternate holiday hours or be closed. Call ahead before heading out.
Zoos: The Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown, is open 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The Philadelphia Zoo is open 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.,
