CADCOM Accepting Applications For Low-Income Business Program

The Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) program helps Montgomery county business entrepreneurs and those who want to start a business project.

The Norristown-based Community Action Development Committee (CADCOM), an anti-poverty agency, is accepting applications for their Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) program designed for low-income entrepreneurs who want to start a new business opportunity or build on a pre-existing one in Montgomery county.

CADCOM hosts business seminars, classes and more in various locations in the county to help businesspeople and those who want to enter the field.

The BYOB program will be held during two 12-week sessions this year, with the first session running from February to May and the other, from September to December. CADCOM is now accepting applications for the spring sessions, which begins on Monday, Feb. 10.

One of the BYOB program goals is for participants to have their business plans in their hands at the graduation. The coursework uses the Core Four Business Planning text and guide, and some of the subjects that are key to the program are market planning, cash flow planning and business plan creation.
