Einstein Medical Center Seeking Artists

The new East Norriton hospital is calling for artists to submit work for the facility's permanent art collection.

According to Project Twenty1, Einstein Medical Center Montgomery, the new hospital being constructed in East Norriton seeking artist’s entries for a permanent art collection and also a donor opportunity program. Submissions are being accepted now through Dec. 16.

According to the blog, artwork will be an important part of the environment of the new hospital and the Einstein Network has a strong desire to recognize its roots in Montgomery County.

The theme for the artwork being sought is "serene nature," reflective of Montgomery County and the surrounding region. Pieces depicting pastoral animals and regional architecture are encouraged and both traditional and contemporary styles will be considered. Images showing people, abstract images or close-up images of animals will not be considered.

Mediums for consideration are drawings, photography, paintings, ceramics, textiles, mixed media, glass, metal. All artwork must be applicable for wall installation. No freestanding pieces will be considered.

Artwork to be submitted should be no smaller than 18" and no larger than 48" in any dimension. Artists may submit up to five pieces of original work. All submissions must have the following information attached to each piece:

  • What is commission lead-time if required?

Submissions are due to the art consultant by 5pm on Dec. 16. Pieces should be in digital format and emailed to Daniel Day at houston@healtheart.com. The subject line should read, "EMCM Call for Artist." Attachments should be no larger than 6MB. Multiple emails are allowed. All inquiries and entries must be sent to this email address only. Artists should not contact any Einstein personnel. Any items sent to facility will not be considered.

Artists will be notified of the jury results by email no later than Friday, Feb. 3, 2012. Do not contact Einstein personnel directly.
