Local Veterinarian Featured on “Today” Show

Dr. Timothy Schwab is supposed to appear on a more regular basis in the future.

A local veterinarian from Metropolitan Veterinary Associates located in Valley Forge will appear on NBC’s the “Today” show Saturday between 8 to 9 a.m. to offer guidance about dogs, according to Sarah Spurgeon, Outreach Manager & Special Projects Coordinator for the veterinary hospital.

Dr. Timothy Schwab, a veterinary surgeon, will make his second appearance on the “Today” show on Saturday, where he will offer advice about back problems for dogs.

He first appeared on the show during a segment that aired on Oct. 9 where Schwab, holding a puppy, spoke about puppy vaccinations, the household items that puppies will ingest and more.

The show will feature Schwab more regularly, though they are still determining if it will be once or twice a month.

A local from Montgomery county, he received his veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Some of his professional interests include soft-tissue surgery and advanced orthopedic procedures, according to the hospital website.

Metropolitan Veterinary Associates is the biggest specialty and emergency practice in the county, according to Spurgeon. The client list for the 24-hour hospital tops 25,000 animals who live in and nearby Montgomery county.
