Menchie's Now Open in East Norriton
The California-based frozen yogurt chain opened it's first area location in the Swede Square Shopping Center earlier this week.
Frozen yogurt enthusiast who've been eyeing the "Opening Soon" sign on the Menchie's in Swede Square Shopping Center can now rejoice – the franchise is officially open.
What's more, the sweet treat shop is offering free frozen yogurt and free t-shirts on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m to celebrate its new digs.
Less than a week old, the shop already has at least one convert on Yelp.com. Yelp user Marc S. from Norristown wrote:

"Awesome frozen yogurt. Great selection of [toppings]. I know it might sound weird, but they have better spoon than other frozen yogurt places."
I have no idea what makes Menchie's spoons more appealing than other froyo purveyors, but I'll admit that Marc has me curious.

The shop is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Call them at 610-277-2722 for more information.
