Despite a competition rife with scandal and intrigue, Schiele's Auto emerges undisputed as our readers' choice for best mechanic in Norristown.
Things got a bit heated when a passionate fan or two realized we didn't have the most secure voting method in our Patch Poll, but the comments don't lie – people LOVE George Schiele of .
When we asked our readers for suggestions on Norristown's best mechanic, we were genuinely surprised by the overwhelming response. As one reader so eloquently put it:
"LOL this thread is cracking me up! I've never seen so many people love mechanics this much!"

Once the poll was compromised and we moved the voting to the comment section (something we'll be doing from now on until we get the poll functionality secured.) the outpouring of support was overwhelming for Schiele's. Though other folks had kind words for their trusted shop as well.

"I've been going to Lou's for years. It's owned and operated by Lou Raieta. He and is staff are wonderful and when my husband got hurt one year they went out of their way for me."
From reader :
"Rich's Auto Repair on East Main Street is the best!! Rich is very honest and I've never had any problem with any reapairs on my car. I've been going to him for over 15 years!"
Other readers had plenty of nice words about mechanics they trust and love, but Schiele's customers were overwhelming in their support. summed up the devotion to Schiele's fairly well when she wrote:
"Although I moved from Norristown 10 years ago, I still drive a half hour to bring our family's cars to Schiele's! George and his son are wonderful people - honest, hard working and trustworthy. My parents have used him for over 30 years and I wouldn't trust anyone else."
Go check out to see all of the great things folks had to say about their mechanics. In the meantime, we'll be stopping by Schiele's Auto to present them with their certificate as the car guys to go to and we'll make sure they see all of the wonderful things that were said about them.
