Norristown Patch Picks: Five romantic spots for Valentine's Day dinner

Looking for a special place to take that special someone this Valentine's Day? We've got you covered

, 301 E.Main St., Norristown; 610-292-1971

La Michoacan is an authentic Mexican eatery. The service is friendly, and the food is, simply put, the best Mexican you can get this far north. Do yourself a favor and resist filling up on the complimentary chips and salsa. You will find it to be difficult because they are addictive, but the menu is well worth all efforts in moderation.

At first glance, the dining room feels like the tables could be pushed to the side and turned into a dance floor. Stay for margaritas and find out.

Blackfish is the personal proving grounds of renowned Chef Charles “Chip” Roman. Roman is a student of Marc Vetri and Georges Perrier, and he brings his special take on the classics with updated daily offerings.

Blackfish is a unique and charming space. To celebrate Valentine's Day, the restaurant is offering a five course prix fixe that includes specialties like Smoked Salmon, Liquid Center Foie Gras Terrine, and Lobster Agnolotti.

Savona, 100 Old Gulph Road, Gulph Mills; 610-520-1200

Executive Chef Andrew Masciangelo employs his "farm to table" approach with a regional Italian menu inspired by his Abruzzese heritage. Savona also boasts the largest wine cellar in the state, offering over 1,000 selections.

The dinning room has a crisp clean and refreshing vibe that transcends its course offering. Savona and Bar Savona are offering an aphrodisiac tasting menu on Valentine’s Day. Say no more.

, 4067 Skippack Pike, Schwenksville; 610-584-1146

Parc Bistro is a rustic combination of French and Italian cuisines. Executive Chef William Tschoepe paints a seasonal menu based on quality local ingredients paired with an expertly picked wine list.

There is a wood burning stove in the center of one of the unique dining areas. But the whole place gets to reap the benefits of its enchanting aroma and romantic flickering lights. Every table is an intimate spot. Do get the cheese plate.

Bridgets, 8 W. Butler Pike, Ambler; 267-465-2000

Owner Kevin Clib has been building a successful mecca rooted in Ambler for over 10 years. His dedication has created quite a following that far extends from this quaint town.

Bridgets has been perfecting the dark wood and romantic candlelight ambiance for quite some time now, and this Valentine’s Day will be no exception. A memo went out that “anyone looking for surf and turf this V-Day should be here.”
