Patch Poll: Best Italian Restaurant

We're wondering who's got the best Italian in town?

If Norristown's got anything going for it (and it's got plenty), it's the food. We've seen a Renaissance in restaurants in the last few years and lord knows we already had a few gems to start with.

One culinary realm in which we excel has got to be Italian food. Norristown may be a melting pot, but that pot is being stirred by a little old Italian lady. The Italian community has always been one of the bedrocks of Norristown (just ask Norristown Ambassador Hank Cisco!). Even my sainted Irish grandmother knows how to whip up a pot of meatballs and sauce – she learned at the apron strings of the Italian mothers who dominated the Norristown neighborhood she started our family in.

So if Norristownians are stepping out for a plate of pasta, where are we doing it? I know Mr. Cisco insits that Greco Roman in West Norriton is the pinacle of fine Italian dining and my family has always frequented nearby Gino's, but what about on West Main or on East Main? Or is there some secret spot for primo pasta that I haven't yet found?

Vote for your favorite spot in our poll below by 9 a.m. Friday. We'll present the winner with a certificate congratulating them on their Italian mastery. If there's a tie, we'll use positive comments in our comment section to break it so be sure to tell us why you love your favorite spot so.

Oh, and if there's a primo pasta slinger we haven't heard about, let us know in the comments and we'll add it to the poll. And before you ask, I'm steering clear of pizza joints this go 'round. They'll have their own bite at the apple soon enough.
