Remembering Montgomery Hospital

Employees of the 123-year-old hospital shared their thoughts and memories about their second home with The Times Herald.

The Times Herald recently featured a piece giving some of Montgomery Hospital's employees an opportunity to share their thoughts and feelings about the historic hospital's closing. Montgomery will shut its doors for good on Saturday.

While many will be moving to the new Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in East Norriton when it opens on Sunday, Sept. 29, the move brings about conflicting emotions for many who've crept its halls.

"The hospital has always had a homey atmosphere," Denise Smith told the Herald. "The closing is sad but it will be a happy, new beginning. A lot of people in Norristown are sad the hospital is leaving."
