East Norriton's Retro Fitness is celebrating their second anniversary, with a celebration planned for tonight.
Retro Fitness, an 18,000 sq. ft. facility located on Germantown Pike in East Norriton has approximately 4,000 members and offers cardio equipment with 17-inch flat screen televisions, personal training; a classroom that offers yoga, Pilates, kickboxing and other classes, free weights, and more.
Megan Sweitzer, owner of Retro Fitness, said the location also includes a movie theater with cardio equipment instead of seating.
Sweitzer continued that there have been a number of members that have lost quite a bit of weight since the gym opened. She said that they have been able to see a marked improvement in members lives in a healthy and positive way.
She told Patch that the gym has been featured in Club Solutions Magazine twice for cleanliness and that members enjoy the comfortable, friendly atmosphere that the staff has created at the gym.
She said that's the biggest difference between a owner operated club and a manger run corporate gym.
Sweitzer said that regular gym goers love the facility for the modern and clean equipment and people who have never been to a gym before are very comfortable because of the friendly environment.
On Monday, Feb. 11, Retro Fitness will offer $0 enrollment fees all day, and 93.3 WMMR will be on site from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with their calendar girls and handing out calendars. Retro Fitness will also have cake, hand out sample and there will be a raffle for an iPad at 7 p.m.
Retro Fitness is open Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
