Shake Shack Coming to King of Prussia

The New York-based purveyor of fast food chic is setting up shop near the King of Prussia Plaza.

Local foodie blogs are abuzz with the news that Shake Shack, the burger joint that makes fast food hip, is opening another Philly-area location in King of Prussia.

The New York-based eatery already has a successful location at 20th and Sansom streets, downtown, and reportedly has another planned for University City. Sticking true to that old adage that good things come in threes, the company has announced plans for a third location at the former Wachovia Bank spot at West DeKalb Pike and Mall Boulevard, according to Philly.com.

The new Shake Shack will also reportedly be the company's second solar-powered operation with a solar panel array on the roof that will account for an estimated 10% of the restaurant's total power consumption.

"We received such a warm welcome when we opened in Center City," said Shake Shack’s CEO Randy Garutti, according to foobooz.com. "It now feels like the right time to continue building our presence in Philly and the surrounding area with two new locations. We look forward to developing even stronger ties with the local community."

The KoP location will reportedly be serving customers by the fall.
