Here are five things to know about Norristown and life today.

1. Democratic candidates for Montgomery County Commissioner Josh Shapiro and Leslie Richards are opening their new field office in Norristown today in Studio Centre at Markley Street and Johnson Highway. The celebration kicks off from 5 to 7 p.m. Stop by, meet the candidates, and tell them what direction you'd like to see Montco heading in.

2. Don’t forget the is this weekend! Last year’s events were almost sold out, so if you haven't gotten your tickets yet, be sure to do so soon. You won’t want to miss out on this spectacular festival.

3. Speaking of dancing, do you know about the Norristown Dancer? If this doesn't get you moving today, I don't know what will.
