Love Stories: Angela Loves Brian

Patch asked our readers for love stories on Valentine's Day and Angela couldn't wait to tell us about her pair of men – Brian and little Jaxon.

Angela says a picture is worth a thousand words. That's why she sent us this photo series of her love story – a picture of her and Brian dating, their engagement picture, a wedding picture and a picture of the happy couple expecting their first child.

"My husband and I both work in the Emergency Medical Services field. I was a volunteer with a local ambulance company and he had just gotten hired there as a paid EMT," wrote Angela. "The first night we met was the fire night he took a shift other than doing his orientation ride time."

That first meeting lit a fire that first responders couldn't put out. Within a week, the pair were on their first date – Applebee's in East Norriton. They've been inseparable ever since.

"Brian proposed on July 8, 2008 at my parents house," wrote Angela. "It was a rather non-traditional proposal – he didn't get down on one knee."

According to Angela, the couple were sitting side-by-side on her parents' sofa when Brian tapped her on the shoulder, produced a ring and said, "So, You wanna?"

"It may not have been the most romantic, but it's definitely something we will both remember the rest of our lives," wrote Angela. "I wouldn't have had in any other way!"

The pair were set to wed in September of 2010, but the groom's brother and sister-in-law both serve in the military and had gotten their orders to deploy overseas. The couple put things off another year and were happily wed on Oct. 9, 2010. (They even got a special wedding gift – Brian's brother and his wife's orders were dropped and the pair stayed put.)

In November of 2011, Angela and Brian found out they were going to be parents and on Aug. 1, 2012, Angela gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Jaxon.

The pair lead a busy life with Brian working multiple EMS jobs, volunteering as a firefighter and taking nursing classes to get his BSN and Angela working full-time and being a mom, but they still find time to enjoy each other.

"To this day, we still go out on date nights and enjoy quality time together," wrote Angela. "We may not be perfect, but my family is perfect to me! And I love both my guys to the moon and back!"
